Christine Rosen

Bernard L. Schwartz Fellow

As a Schwartz Fellow, Rosen will write a book about how technology mediates our engagement with our surroundings, for better and for worse. The Extinction of Experience will be published by W.W. Norton in 2013 and will explore the myriad ways technology is changing human behavior. Rosen is a writer and senior editor of The New Atlantis: A Journal of Technology & Society, where she covers the social impact of technology, bioethics, and the history of genetics.  She is the author of Preaching Eugenics: Religious Leaders and the American Eugenics Movement, a history of the ethical and religious debates surrounding the eugenics movement in the United States, and My Fundamentalist Education. Rosen is a graduate of the University of South Florida and has a PhD in History from Emory University.
