As a technologist within the Open Technology Institute, Stephen Soltesz helps support Measurement Lab. His support includes coordination with Measurement Lab's members, support for researchers who develop experiments for the platform, and system development to create a more efficient and stable platform.
Before joining the New America Foundation, Stephen studied with Larry Peterson in Princeton University's Computer Science department and worked as a staff member of the PlanetLab Consortium. His research focused on monitoring and management of distributed systems composed by multiple parties, which ultimately gives rise to "collaborative operation" of the platform.
Stephen received a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee. And, for his work comparing the relative performance, scale, and isolation of container-based versus hypervisor-based operating system virtualization, he received a masters degree in Computer Science from Princeton University.
