Michael Correia

Michael Correia joined the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) as the senior project manager in November 2011. In this capacity, he worked directly with CRFB President Maya MacGuineas and oversees and coordinates day-to-day activities of the "Go Big" campaign, including communication, social media, event planning, and fundraising. In addition, he served as direct liaison between CRFB and the New America Foundation on all matters that impact staff and operations.  

Prior to joining CRFB, Michael was legislative director for U.S. Representative George P. Randanovich (R-CA), who served as a senior member on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Previously, Michael spent eight years working on the majority staff of the House Resources Committee, serving three different Chairmen. During his many years on the committee, he worked on various natural resource issues and on several subcommittees. Between his two tours on Capitol Hill, he worked with non-profits, corporations, Congress, and the White House as the Director of Federal Affairs at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a trade association that represents state legislators and private sector members. After many years of directly working for politicians, he looks forward to entering the rewarding field of nonprofit work. Michael has an extensive background in political campaigns, event planning, public policy, and issue advocacy. Mr. Correia actively volunteers for community causes. A native of California, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, San Diego.
