As a field analyst with the Open Technology Institute, Kistine Carolan works with community partners in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the stimulus-package funded buildout of 77 computer labs and digital training classes across the city.
Formerly an organizer with Maternity Care Coalition, Ms. Carolan has promoted policies to improve maternal and child health. She has guided both quantitative and qualitative research projects, including acting as a co-investigator for a Drexel University School of Public Health study on prenatal care access.
She spent several years as a reporter and co-producer of Labor Justice Radio, a community radio show in Philadelphia, and a program of the Media Mobilizing Project. In June 2001, the show was recognized by the local chapter of the Coalition of Labor Union Women for the value of its citizen journalism efforts.
Ms. Carolan holds a Master’s of Social Service from Bryn Mawr’s School of Social Work and Social Research, with a concentration in public policy and advocacy.
