Joe Colucci

Joe Colucci is a program associate in the Health Policy Program. He assists Acting Director Shannon Brownlee with background research and economic analysis of news, academic research, and legislation, and provides administrative support for the Health Policy Program’s ongoing projects and events.

Joe is also the primary blogger for the Health Policy Program’s blog, New Health Dialogue. The blog covers health care delivery system issues, with a focus on evidence-based practice, behavioral economics, and the effects of modern medical regulatory and payment systems.

Joe graduated cum laude from New York University, with highest honors in Economics, and wrote a senior thesis examining the relationship between managed care health insurance companies and medical costs. Prior to being hired he worked as a Program Assistant for NYU-Wagner Professor Daniel Smith and an editorial assistant for NYU Professor Marc Lieberman, and interned for New York State Senator Daniel Squadron, New York City Comptroller John Liu, and the Drug Policy Alliance.
