As a Research Associate for the Health Policy Program, Sam Wainwright assisted program leadership in the pursuit of meaningful health care delivery system reform that guarantees high quality, evidence-based, preference sensitive, and affordable care for all Americans. He provided program and research support through the review of relevant legislation, regulation, and academic literature, as well as assisting in event coordination, communication, and program administration.
Sam was also an editor and blogger for the New Health Dialogue, an online initiative of the health policy program, covering the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, shared decision making, and comparative effectiveness research.
Sam is a graduate with distinction of the University of Michigan Honors Program with a bachelor’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies with a focus on Medical Anthropology. For his senior honors thesis, he wrote a comparative history of health insurance in Argentina and the United States. Before joining the New America Foundation, Mr. Wainwright held an internship in the field of health care policy and communications in the Chicago office of the Campaign for Better Health Care.
