As the External Relations Manager, Faith Smith is responsible for initiating and stewarding the Foundation’s media partnerships that include Slate, Foreign Policy, and The New Yorker, while seeking new opportunities for partnership. In this position, she works closely with the Vice President and Director of External Relations, Policy Program Directors, Fellows, the New America Board and Leadership Council, the events team, and other key external stakeholders and colleagues to produce exciting, informative convenings and partnerships that amplify the work and ideas of the Foundation’s programs and fellows and advance New America's institutional mission.
 
Ms. Smith curates the New America – NYC event series at the foundation’s New York location. She is also directs all facets of the events and outreach for  Future Tense, the partnership between New America, Arizona State University and Slate magazine, which explores emerging technologies and their transformative effects on society and public policy.
 
Previously Ms. Smith was the program manager for the Bernard L. Schwartz Fellows Program where she served as the program’s point person and organizational hub. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in International Development. Her regions of specialization were Latin America and the Middle East.
