About Us
The Asset Building Program of the New America Foundation is a leading voice on innovative, market-oriented public policies to enable low- and moderate-income families in the U.S. and around the world to accumulate savings; access wealth-building financial services and financial education; better manage their debts; and build and protect lifelong, productive assets-a home, higher education, a small business, investments, and a nest-egg for retirement.
The Education Policy Program of the New America Foundation focuses on developing new ideas to advance the cause of equity, access, and excellence in public education. The program proposes comprehensive changes to education policy from pre-kindergarten to graduate school with the goal of closing multiple opportunity and achievement gaps nationwide.
The
Center
for Social Development
(CSD) is a part of the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington
University in St. Louis. CSD was founded in 1994, with Michael Sherraden serving
as the founding director. CSD's
mission is to create and study domestic and international innovations in public
policy that enable individuals, families, and communities to formulate and
achieve life goals, and contribute to the economy and society. Through
innovation, research, and policy development, CSD makes intellectual and applied
contributions in social development theory, evidence, community projects, and
public policy. CSD is a
leading academic center for theory and research on asset-building strategies for
low-income individuals and families. Such strategies include Child
Development Accounts and Inclusive
529 Savings Policy.
