Joel Garreau

Joel Garreau is the long-time staff writer at the Washington Post who writes about culture, technology, and how the two intersect. He is also principal of The Garreau Group, a consulting firm. Mr. Garreau's notable books include The Nine Nations of North America, Edge City: Life on the New Frontier and Radical Evolution: The Promise and Peril of Enhancing Our Minds, Our Bodies, and What It Means to Be Human. He has been a fellow at Cambridge University, the University of California at Berkeley and George Mason University, and is a member of Global Business Network.

As a New America fellow, Mr. Garreau will take an anthropological look at how human enhancement is transforming public policy.
