As Director of the Federal Education Budget Project for the Education Policy Program at the New America Foundation, Jason Delisle develops and manages content for the project, including a database containing federal funding information on every school district in the country, issue briefs on the federal education budget process, and background and analytical information on federal education programs. Mr. Delisle contributes regularly to the Federal Education Budget Project’s blog, Ed Money Watch, which provides commentary, reporting, and analysis on developments in federal education finance. He also contributes to New America’s Higher Ed Watch Blog.
With over seven years of experience in education and budget policy on Capitol Hill, Mr. Delisle brings extensive knowledge and expertise to New America’s Federal Education Budget Project. Before joining New America, Mr. Delisle was a senior analyst on the Republican staff of the U.S. Senate Budget Committee, where he played a key role in developing federal education legislation. From 2000 to 2006, he worked in the office of Rep. Thomas Petri (R-WI) as a legislative assistant specializing in education policy. A graduate of Lawrence University, he also holds a master’s degree in public policy from George Washington University.
