Anne Stuhldreher

Former Fellow

Anne Stuhldreher was a Fellow at the New America Foundation from 2004 until early 2007, when she left to become a Senior Policy Adviser to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver.

Ms. Stuhldreher has had a distinguished career in developing innovative policies and programs to build the financial security of disadvantaged individuals in the United States. She has worked with and at all levels of government, and for financial institutions, policy institutes, community-based organizations, public officials, and national foundations. It is her aim to advance solutions that break new ground and create bold partnerships between government agencies, nonprofits, and businesses. She has spearheaded several public-private partnerships, including the San Francisco Working Families Credit and Bank on San Francisco. Ms Stuhldreher also started and ran partnerships to help working poor Americans open matched savings accounts. She currently advises high-level California politicians on their efforts to help the working poor.
