Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget Calls on Presidential Candidates to Debate the Debt

WASHINGTON, DC - The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) today kicks off its campaign to urge the 2012 presidential candidates to devote one of the three debates scheduled for this fall entirely to the issue of the unsustainable national debt. As part of the effort, CRFB launched www.DebateTheDebt.org as a place where concerned citizens can learn more and lend their support. CRFB president Maya MacGuineas and board members Bill Frenzel and Charlie Stenholm will discuss the effort in a conference call for reporters today at 1 pm ET.
