To Live or to Perish Forever

Two Tumultuous Years in Pakistan

Join us as journalist Nick Schmidle, who was deported from Pakistan in January 2008 after writing a controversial New York Times Magazine article entitled “Next Gen Taliban,” discusses his just-released book, To Live or to Perish Forever: Two Tumultuous Years in Pakistan. Schmidle’s book chronicles his time exploring the outer reaches of Pakistan’s remotest provinces, investigating the murky relationship between Pakistan’s intelligence services and the militants threatening the region, and providing an insider’s look at Benazir Bhutto’s assassination in 2007.
